Changing COMs type on P400 terminal

- Press '1' and Clear button(<) simultaneously.

- Enter password 'SE915074' to enter the engineering menu.

- Select Comms Setup and then select Comms Type

- Select Serial and then select Serial Setup

- Select Serial Speed and then select '57600'

- Once you have selected the baud rate mentioned in the previous step, press Cancel button (X) to get to the main screen.

- Re-initialize the terminal and share an update.

The default Engineering Menu password for a Verifone P400 terminal is typically SE915074 (case sensitive) for most production terminals, or sometimes 12345678 for test or specific configurations.

To access the Engineering Menu:

Press key 1 and the green 'O' (Accept) or yellow '<' (Clear) key simultaneously.
When prompted, enter the password. You may need to multi-tap the numeric keys to enter letters (e.g., press the 7 key four times for 'S').
Press the green 'O' key to confirm and enter the menu.

Other Potential Passwords

The password can vary based on the specific software build or the payment processor you are using. Other possible default passwords include:

2345 for the initial Comm Mode menu that appears on startup.
- 9416557 for the Genius P400 (Cayan/Global Payments) Admin Overview screen.
- 12345 as a default Supervisor PIN for some P400+ models.
- 200331 for Com Control configuration on some Global Payments model
